I am still unable to flash the router. It's a WRT310N Linksys version 1 that I flashed with version 2 firmware on accident.

-- I am running off of my home PC (Windows 7, enterprise 64 bit)
-- I have a steady power light (no blinking) on the router
-- I set a static IP to: 192.168.1.5 (IPV4)
-- Mask: 255.255.255.0
-- Gateway: 192.168.1.1
-- Left DNS blank, which I tried the gateway as well

-- I run a constant ping but I never get "host unreachable" just no reply when I follow your steps....am I doing something wrong?

Good to hear, I'm glad that it worked for you! You must've tried some pretty crazy 'fixes' if this one sounded too easy!

Benn trying to unbring my WRT130N router for a month now and I seen everything and tried the most insane fixes. At first I didnt even attempt to try your fix because it seemed to easy, but after the first attempt the router came right up. Good write up and Great Job!!!
